      GENERAL NEWS NOTES OF THE DAY

      . . . Two United States navy sailors were drowned in Lake Michigan yesterday when the heavy seas dashed a yawl carrying fifteen men against the south pier at the naval training station at Lake Bluff. Five men were thrown into the water. Two were rescued after feats of heroism and one saved himself. The dead are: Robert N. Walters, chief gunner's mate. Enlisted at Philadelphia. Bradford Bixby, apprentice seaman. Enlisted at Muskogee, Okla. . . .
