| Notes |
- Joseph enlisted in the Army on Apr 26, 1898 in Chicago, and fought in the Spanish American War. He was a Private in Co. G, 2nd Regiment, Illinois Infantry. Discharged Aug 27, 1898.
Joseph was said to be a brilliant man--a spry old guy in his time. There was nothing that Joe couldn't do well. Liquor was his downfall and women too, being married four times.
