    • According to "America's greatest pioneer family: history of the Shrode family in America", by Ira Thomas Taylor (1945), William Guy Shrodes, born January 1, 1883 in Coronet, Pennsylvania, married Mary E. Ashcom in Ligonier on October 15, 1925. They had no children. This appears to be William's second marriage, his first being to Eleanor Jane Humphreys.
