Susan Grace W. Pinkerton, 97 years old of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Friday afternoon, October 5, 2012 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center  in Wilmington, Ohio.Â
She was born Sunday, November 1, 1914 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late George & Lora Ruth (Ervin) Woodburn, of Dayton, Kentucky.  She graduated from Dayton High School in Dayton, KY and had studied piano and organ at the Cincinnati College of Music.Â
Mrs. Pinkerton had been the organist for both the Dayton Presbyterian Church  and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bellevue, KY.  She later moved to Pikeville College in Pikevile, KY as the Matron of the girls dormitory, the Dierriana for 12 years.  She then moved to Wilmington, Ohio with her husband, John Wesley Pinkerton, who was employed at Wilmington College in 1964 until his retirement.  Grace was well known as a superb seamstress, making all of her own and her husband's clothing.  She was a member of the Wilmington Presbyterian Church.  After her husband's death on March 3, 2002, she made her home at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Center, where she was very happy visiting with anyone who stopped by her room.Â
Surviving are her niece- Carol (Tom) Ringenberg, of Center Conway, NH; niece- Barbara (Clair) Touby, of Saranac Lake, NY; nephew- James (Terry) Watson, of Louisville, KY; many great-nieces and  great-nephews,a  great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.Â
In addition to her parents and her husband of 48 years, she was preceded in death by her 2 sisters- Blanche Watson and Virginia Woodburn.Â
Friends will be received from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, Ohio.Â
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey J. Ott officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, .Â
The family requests no flowers. Contributions may be made to the Community Care Hospice, PO Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio  45177.
