- The following obituary was pubished in the Daily News (Huntington, Pennsylvania) on July 9, 1942:
Miss Edna Lauder passed away at her late residence in Riddlesburg, Bedford County, on Wednesday evening, July 8, 1942 at 6 o'clock. She had been ill about a week.
Miss Lauder was born in Riddlesburg, and her entire life was spent there. Her parents, William Lauder and Mary Esther Lauder are deceased. Her father was at one time superintendent of the Colonial Iron Company at Riddlesburg and during the administration of Governor of Martin G. Brumbaugh served as State Secretary of Education.
For more than twenty years Miss Lauder was outstanding in her devotion to the civic and humanitarian needs of the Broad Top region. She was executive secretary of the Mother's Assistance Board until that bureau was consolidated with the Department of Public Assistance, and since then she has devoted her time and interest to that work. Her humane interests and her deep concern for the needy made her one of the best known women in the Broad Top, and she had the respect and esteem of everyone. Her passing is a shock both to her relatives and her friends.
She was also keenly interested in the Children's Aid of Pennsylvania, as well as being a devout member of the Riddlesburg Methodist church.
Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lloyd Shaw, of Lonaconing, Md.; Mrs. Edith Sutton of Philadelphia; Mrs. Helen Gage of Philadelphia, William Lauder of Riddlesburg, and Robert Lauder of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and interment in the Everett cemetery will be directed by Huffs funeral service.
