- According to his sister Sherry, Danny was a well respected psychologist who helped many people in his life, He was also a scholar.

Services Set for McDonald
Graveside services for Danny McDonald 31, coordinator of the Talbot House alcoholism recovery center in Victoria, who was found dead Friday morning at his residence at 709 Monterrey from a gunshot wound to the head, will he held at 3 p m. Tuesday al Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo.
The Rev. Charles Reece, pastor of First Christian Church in Sweetwater, will officiate. Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo is in charge of arrangements. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Justice of the Peace Alfred C. Baass ruled that the wound to the right side of the head was apparently self inflicted. Police said a .38 caliber revolver was found near the body.
The family' requests that in lieu of the usual remembrances, memorial contributions be made to the patients' trust fund at Big Spring State Hospital where McDonald had served with the alcoholism and drug abuse division before taking the Victoria post on Dec. 1, 1977.
A Navy veteran, McDonald was born Oct. 18, 1947, in New Kensington, Pa., and was a former resident of San Angelo.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Margaret Reece McDonald, and a son, Nathan McDonald, both of Victoria; a daughter, Jennifer McDonald of Austin; his father, Robert McDonald of Seattle, Wash; it sister, Mrs. Jerry Stewart of San Angelo; and his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. R. L. Montgomery of Mineral Wells.
