Richard G. “Dick” Carrington
Richard G. “Dick” Carrington, age 87 of Glenshaw, PA died Saturday October 5, 2013 in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born June 29, 1926 in Dubuque, Iowa, he was the son of the late Percy W. and Mabel (Edgar) Carrington. He married Annabelle (Shinham) Carrington in 1955.
Dick was a retired school teacher having taught for several North Hills School Districts near Pittsburgh. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son David Carrington of Glenshaw, PA , one sister Phyllis J. Wertime of Greencastle and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 9 at 2:30 PM from the Bock Funeral Home in Glenshaw, PA.  A graveside committal service will be held at the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle on Friday October 11 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Darcy Hawk officiating. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Gibsonia Presbyterian Church 4003 Gibsonia Rd. Gibsonia, PA 15044. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com. Local arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
