- According to an engagement announcement in the March 11, 1981 edition of the Pittsburgh Press, Deborah Rea graduated from the Sewickely Valley Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Pennsylvania. She was a captain in the Army Nurse Corps stationed at Walter Reed Medical Center Washington, D.C. She was studying for a masters degree at American University. She was engaged to Thomas A. Murphy, who was a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital of Nursing. He was a coronary care nurse in Oceanside, California. Their wedding was scheduled for October 1981.
Deborah is in 2011 a Professor in the Health Sciences Department of West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
