SWOPE Harry E. Swope, 76, of Silver Spring, MD, died June 11, 2017, at Washington Community Hospice House, Washington, D. C. Born Aug. 4, 1940, in Berlin, PA, Harry is the son of the late Orin O. and Roberta G. (Johnson) Swope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Swope Lehman, Isobel Swope Lange, Elnora Swope Tonkovich; two brothers, C. Robert Swope and John O. Swope. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Swope Miller and her husband Robert E. Miller of Berlin, PA.; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Swope of Orange, VA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Harry is a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1958-1962 and was a member of the Berlin Area Historical Society. A graveside service will be held July 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. at International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery in Berlin, PA.
