SWOPE Orin O. Swope, 84, Berlin, died July 7 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born April 18, 1883, in Berlin, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Sarah Agnes (Heffley) Swope. Twice married, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Orpha Dickey, and second wife, Roberta (Johnson) Swope. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Helen Lehman, Takoma Park, Md.; Mrs. Isabelle Lange, Syracuse, N. Y.; Mrs. Elnora Yonkovich and Mrs. Barbara Miller, both of Berlin; three sons: C. Robert, Orange, Va.; John, Takoma Park; and Harry, Gaithersburg, Md.; also nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, John Swope, Mesa, Ariz. He was a member of United Church of Christ, Berlin; Moose Lodge, Meyersdale, and Berlin IOOF Lodge. Funeral service was held at Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, on Monday afternoon, with Rev. Randall L. Heckman officiating. Interment was made in Berlin IOOF cemetery.
