MATTHEW J. BELOTE, 52, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Bronson, Mich., died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his home with his loving family at his side. Born Jan. 29, 1955, in Coldwater, Mich., he was the son of Kenneth and Carolyn (Klemmer) Belote. He graduated from Bronson High School, in 1973. He then attended Ferris State University. He worked the majority of his life in automotive sales and finance. He enjoyed golf, bowling, baseball, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family, especially with his daughters. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Surviving are his fiancee, Patricia Kovach of Fort Wayne; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Michael Lara of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Amy Belote of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Mallory Belote of Fort Wayne; his grandson, Carter Lara; his mother, Carolyn Belote of Bradenton, Fla.; brothers, Dan (Myra) Belote of Bronson, Mich., Kenneth (Mary) Belote of Oakland, Mich., Scott (Julie) Belote of Aurora, Colo., and David (Christine) Belote of Dorr, Mich.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Belote. A funeral service celebrating the life of Matthew J. Belote is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church, Bronson, Mich., with the Rev. Fr. Richard A. Fritz officiating. Prayers at 9:30 a.m. Saturday ate Kolcz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Interment will follow service in St. Mary Cemetery. The obituary is also at www.kolcz.com where private messages may be left for the family.
