- According to the 1930 Census, Mary lived with her father at 822 Florence Ave., Avalon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania with her two sons, Jack and Robert. She worked as a stenographer at a steel company.

The following obituary was published in the December 14, 1949 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
JOHNSON--On Tuesday morning, December 13, 1949, Mary Woodburn, wife of the late John F. Johnson, of 822 Florence Ave., Avalon; mother of Jack F., Jr., and Bob Woodburn Johnson; sister of Mrs. Martha Farris, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Ruth Young, of Chicago; Robert Y., of Bluefield, W. Va.; John H. and Morrow M. Woodburn, both of Avalon. Friends received at McDonald Funeral Home, 529 California Ave., Avalon, were services will be held on Friday afernoon at 2:30 o'clock.
