Notes

According to Lillian Johnson's brother's death notice, Lillian was referred to as Mrs. J. M. Butler and living in Avalon in 1920.

According to the 1900 census, his name is William and he was living with his family (William, age 8: Russell, age 3; and Benjamin, age 1) and mother-in-law, Hanna Johnson, in Steubenville, Jefferson Co., Ohio. He was a salesman. [Note: William's name is incorrectly transcribed as "Buster" in the 1900 census on Ancestry.com.] Lillian's husband does not appear in the 1910 or 1920 censuses.
