- According to a handwritten "Family Record", probably from a family Bible, obtained from Emma Johnson Farmin, and a related "Family Tree" obtained from Corrine Farmin, daughter of Emma Johnson, Estella's middle name was May and she was born on May 12, 1863. These sources are believed to be generally accurate and will be relied upon unless other sources require a different conclusion.
The following obituary was published in the February 9, 1946 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
MRS. ROBERT EDGAR
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Edgar, who died Wednesday at her home at 3546 Campus street, Northside, will be conducted this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Lowrie Funeral Home, 1407 Chateau street. She was 83. A native of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Edgar as the daughter of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Ray Johnson Davis and Gilman Warren Davis, and a descendant of pioneer families who settled at old Fort Pitt. She was a member of the McClure Avenue Presbyterian Church. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mabel E. Carrington and Mrs. Alice E. Evans; and two sons, William C. and Robert F. Edgar, and seven grandchildren.
