Notes |
- Joseph was a hotel owner--the "Morris Hotel" in Kirkland, Illinois, county coroner, furniture maker and cook. Although there is no military record, he claimed that he enlisted in the 5th Kentucky Calvary in 1864 at the age of 17 and was a "dispatch rider".
