- According to Rich Goms (richardandann@netzero.com), Livingston, Montana tax records show that Reuben was born in 1854 in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
IIn 1887, Reuben was a cook for the St. James Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1888, Reuben continued to cook for the St. James Hotel. In 1889, Reuben and his family moved to Livingston, Montana.
The following obituary was transcribed and published on FindaGrave.com (2011) by Richard Goms:
Morris - Ruben B., aged 72, a prominent Montana rancher, died at Minneapolis April 15. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite, one son, R. Blaine Morris, and three daughters, Mrs. H.C. Goms and Mrs. Reichel of Minneapolis, and Mrs. A. J. Brodrick of Havre, Mont. Services will be held at Gleason's chapel, 111 9th St. S. at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Crystal Lake cemetery.
(Note: He was later moved to Sunset Memorial Park.)
