- According to the 1930 census, Ellsworth and his wife Pearl were living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with their children--Robert, age 6, and Joan, age 2. They were married at ages 16 and 15, respectively. It is not clear why Betty does not appear in the census.
The following obituary appeared on June 24, 1986 in The Washington Post:
Dauenhauer, Ellsworth (Don) U.
On Saturday, June 21, 1986, of Arlington, Va., loving husband of Patsy Dauenhauer; father of Robert and Ellsworth Dauenhauer, John McDonald and Betty K. DeLawder; brother of Mildred Windell and Arthur Dauenhauer; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME OF ARLINGTON, 4510 Wilson Blvd., where the family will be present 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and where services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 25. Interment Columbia Gardens.
