- According to her brother, John, Carolyn became a registered nurse while attending Nazareth College in Kalamazoo Mich. In 2012, she was retired and living in Bradenton Florida.
The following obituary was published in The Bradenton Herald on July 24, 2016:
Carolyn Marie Belote
of Bradenton passed away July 16, 2016. Born January, 10th 1932 to Oscar and Mary (Kalvinski) Klemmer in Sturgis, Michigan. Graduated from Bronson High School June 1st, 1950. Received a Diploma of Nursing From Nazareth College September 11th,1953. Married Kenneth M. Belote July 24, 1954. The mother of Matt, Dan, Ken, Scott, and David Belote. Mrs. Belote started her nursing career in 1953 at Coldwater Community Hospital in Coldwater, Michigan and continued until her retirement 55 years later from Bradenton Memorial Hospital in Bradenton Florida. After her retirement she was a volunteer at Mote Aquarium, Van Weziel, the Sarasota Airport, and spent many early mornings doing turtle walks. Carolyn was an avid golfer and bowler and played bridge and pinochle during her free time. Her beloved dog Happy was a source of great joy. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband and sons Matt and Dan (Myra). She is survived by her brother John (Sue) Klemmer, sons: Ken(Mary), Scott(Julie),and David(Chris), 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren".
