Notes |
- Robert attended elementary and secondary school on the North Side of Pittsburgh. He lived on Summit Ave. in Bellvue, PA and in St. Petersburg, FL, where he died of arterial sclerosis. He worked for Reymers Candy and owned and operated a store known as Jack and Jill, which was a children's furniture store in Florida.
The following obituary was published in the Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, Florida) on November 28, 1973:
SLOAN--Robert W. Sloan 75, of 1900 68th St. N, husband of Mrs. Helen Sloan, and former owner of Jack and Jill Juvenile Furniture at 28th and Central, died Monday night. He was a long time member of Pasadena Presbyterian Church, and resident here from Pittsburgh 24 years. Surviving also are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Funk, of Pittsburgh, Mrs. J. C. Mainwood, of Racine, Wis., and Mrs. W. A. Smith, of Tampa, a sister, Mrs. J. D. McEwen, of Palmdale, Calif., and six grandchildren. Funeral services Fred H. Kenfield Funeral Home (200 Pasadena Ave. S.) 10AM Thursday, the Rev. Ralph M. Llewellyn, his Pastor, officiating. Interment Memorial Park. The family will be at Kenfield Funeral Home Wednesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9.
