    • The following obituary was published in The Pittsburgh Press on August 3, 1952:

      Avalon Bank President Dies After Illness
      William M. Young; Trustee of Church

      William M. Young, 61, of 740 California Ave., Avalon, president of the Avalon Bank, died in Surburban (sic) Hospital yesterday after a brief illness.

      Mr. Young had been associated with the bank since 1907. He had been a trustee of the Avalon Presbyterian Church for 25 year and was treasurer at the time of his death.

      He was a member of the Avalon Lodge No. 657, F. & A. M., and the Banker's Club of Pittsburgh.

      Surviving are his wife Jeannette Kelso Young; a daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Leech Jr.; a son, Alan K. Young; two grand; his mother, Mrs. Stethanna (sic) Young; three brothers, Hugh W., Harry D., and R. Nevin; and one sister, Mrs. Elme Zimmerman.

      Friends are being received at the McDonald Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
