- According to an article in The Daily Messenger, Canandaigua, New York, on April 26, 1924, Phillip died on January 10, 1923. His heirs were listed as his son Fred and five daughters, Barbara Carl, of Pen*yn, Cal.; Louise Strachan and Kate Butterfield, of Hopewell; Carrie Eiseline, of Gorham, an dLena Brahm, of Canandaigua.
The following obituary appeared in the Penn Yan Democrat (Gorham, New York) on Friday, January 26, 1923:
—Rushville, Jan. 18.—The funeral of Phillip Greeny was held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of his son, Fred Greeny, in Gorham. Mr. Greeny was born in Germany, October 27, 1870 (sic). Besides his son he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Iseline, of Gorham, at whose home he died; Mrs. John Brahm, of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Strachm, of Gorham.Â
