    • The following obituary appeared in the Johnstown Tribune Democrat on Monday, October 6, 1975:

      ASHCOM --- Mrs. Ida H., 90, Allegheny Lutheran home, 807 Goucher St., died Oct. 4, 1975, at home. Born April 12, 1885, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Wirth) Leckey. Preceded in death by husband, J. Edwin, who died in 1949. Survived by son, Robert, Charlottesville, Va.; and daughter, Mrs. Margaret Jeanne Oslyn, Woodmere, N.Y. Lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary and from 12:30 until time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Swank Chapel, First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert G. Swanson. Internment, Grandview Cemetery. In remembrance of Mrs. Ashcom, those who wish may make contributions to the Allegheny Lutheran Home.

      Note: According to FindAGrave.com, Ida's headstone shows her date of birth as April 13, 1895. This is incorrect.
