      Mrs. Garges, Active in Club Affairs, Dies

      Mrs. Alfred Ball Garges, 76, a clubwoman in Washington for more than 50 years, died Saturday in Binghamton, N.Y. when visiting a son, William C. Garges.

      During her long career, Mrs. Garges twice was regent of the Frances Scott Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and served on many national and State committees in that organization. She was one of the incorporators of the District DAR chapter house corporation and a charter member of the National Mothers Memory Club.

      A native of Everett, Pa., she moved to Washington about 1900. The widow of a local druggist, she lived at 2013 New Hampshire ave., nw.

      Survivors beside her son are two daughters, Mrs. Fowler W. Barker, of the New Hampshire ave address, and Mrs. Dorothy G. McGraw, of San Gabriel, Calif. and seven grandchildren.

      Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hysong Funeral Home, 1300 N st. nw. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to Mrs. Helen Winters, treasurer, National Mothers Memory Club, Kenesaw Apts., 16th and Irving sts. nw for the aged women's home fund.
