  • Notes
    • Information regarding John and his wife, Elizabeth Ashcom, needs to be confirmed. This information is included in this database based on the supposition that Elizabeth married John (according to Ashcom family researcher Ron Groh, without citation). A John and Elizabeth Chamberlin who lived in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania in the first half of the 19th century is assumed to comprise this family.

According to the 1860 census, John was living with his daughter and son-in-law in Hopewell, Pennsylvania in 1860.

According to his headstone, a picture of which appears on FindaGrave.com, John was "A Soldier of the War of 1812".
