The following obituary was published in the Everett Press (Everett, Pennsylvania) on December 9, 1892:
Death of Mrs. Nancy M. Ashcom.
Mrs. Nancv M. Ashcom relict of the late Dr. John P Ashcom died at her residence in Everett on Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock in the 67th year of her age. She had been in ill health for a number of years but it was only a few days before her death that her friends became alarmed at the nearness of the end. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years and her end was peaceful. She leaves one daughter, Anna, who has been her constant companion and nurse, and two sons Jno. W. Ashcom of Renova and Thomas B. Ashcom of Denver, Col. Her funeral will take place from her residence on Main street on Saturday at 1 o'clock p. m.
