- Ray was an Office Manager at H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh. He lived at 221 S. Starr Ave. in Avalon, PA and then at 176 Dickson Ave. in Ben Avon, PA. He attended Bellvue United Presbyterian Church. He died of a brain tumor.
The following obituary was published in the October 14, 1953 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
RAY B. JOHNSON
Ray B. Johnson, 54, Western Branch manager for the H.J. Heinz Company, died yesterday at his home, 176 Dickson Avenue, Ben Avon, after an illness of several months. Mr. Johnson was a native of Pittsburgh and had lived in Bellevue before moving to Ben Avon. He first went to work for Heinz 40 years ago. He was a member of the Ben Avon Presbyterian Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Pearson Johnson; a son, Dr. Frank P. Johnson; his mother, Mr. Mary E. Johnson, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Sloan, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. W. A. Farmin. Friends are being recived at McDonald Funeral Home, 529 California Avenue, Avalon, where services will be held Friday evening at 8. Burial will be Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in Highwood Cemetery.
