Obituary for Stephen James Malin, Jr.

Stephen James Malin, Jr., age 32, of Newark, DE, left this world for a better place surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Stephen’s beloved wife, Stacey (Spory) Malin, and loving son, Jacob, will always feel eternally blessed to have had him in their lives. Everyone felt privileged to have Stephen for a friend. No one was a stranger when he was around. Stephen loved life, and everyone knew he could always be counted on and helping in anyway that he could. He loved cars, especially Mustangs. He attended Glasgow High School where he participated in football, cross country, and track. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Stephen was the most beloved son and brother to his parents and sister. He and Stephanie had a very special bond connecting them forever. Why God called Stephen home, we will never know. The brightest new star in the heavenly skies is Stephen. All of our hearts will forever be broken.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Stacey; and son, Jacob; parents, Stephen & Denise Malin; sister, Stephanie Malin; father-in-law, Robert Spory; brother-in-law, Brian Spory; paternal grandmother, Jean Malin; maternal grandmother, Margaret LaRock; uncles and aunts: James & Mary Ann Malin, Kenneth Malin, Kathy Malin, Richard & Emily Malin, Robert & Barbara Malin; Michael Malin, Gloria Socorso, Patrick Keyes, Mark & Maria Whitlow, Gordon & Nancy Frobenius, Aunt Dot & Uncle Charlie Davenport, Kimberly, Thomas, Victoria, and John Sopkanich, and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Anita Spory; paternal grandfather, James Malin; and maternal grandfather, Anthony LaRock.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home. 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6-8 pm.
