- The following obituary was published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on June 5, 1985:
Clara D. Stolte, taught music
Clara D. Stolte, 70, a retired teacher and organist who had taught voice and music in Duquesne public schools, died Monday of cancer in St. Clair Hospital.
Mrs. Stolte, of Prospect Road, Whitehall, was a graduate of the School of Music at Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie-Mellon University. She earned her master's degree in sacred music at Union Theological Seminary.
She was a member of th America Guild of Organists; Music Educators' National Conference; and Ruthfred Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, William H. Stolte; and a daughter, Sylvia M. Stolte of Brentwood.
Friends are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Ruthfred Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
