      Jeannine (James) Ashcom

      ASHCOM – Jeannine “J.J.” (James), went to be with the Lord Feb. 20, 2015, at home in Ligonier. Born Jan. 25, 1956, daughter of Raymond Wesley Sr. and Rose (Butz) James. Preceded in death by her father. Survived by her husband, John Ashcom; brothers, Raymond W. James Jr., married to the former Claudia Bumstead; Michael James, married to the former Stacie Marshtimger; and Stanley James, married to the former Cynthia Dzmura; and sisters, Denise, wife of Robert Knieirem; and Sonya, wife of Gary Ashcom. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jeannine was a 1973 graduate of Bishop McCort and obtained her nursing degree from Mount Aloysius College and was a certified wound care specialist. Member of Bishop McCort Aalumni, Padona and Resurrection Parish. Jeannine worked at Mercy Hospital in the critical care unit, Golden Living Center, Beverley Enterprises and recently at Guardian Elder Care as a nurse consultant. Jeannine loved working, camping, collecting angels and spending time with family and friends. She has touched the lives of so many with her caring compassion and her willingness to help all in need. She put her heart and soul into all that she did, excellence and perfection always her goal. She was an inspiration to all who seen her pure determination and unwavering faith. God has called home one of his earthly angels. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., were vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Parish, the Very Rev. Alan Thomas, VF. Private committal at St. Casimir Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Jeannine. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.ozogfh.com.
