Jean E. Ripple
RIPPLE – Jean E., 92, passed away May 7, 2012, at Homeland Center, Harrisburg. Born Dec. 29, 1919. She retired as a bookkeeper from Country Club Coal Co., Windber, and Metropolitan Insurance Co., Johnstown. She graduated from South Fork High School and Cambria-Rowe Business College, Johnstown. She was a lifelong member of Scalp Level Church of the Brethren in Scalp Level, as well as Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She will be missed for her warmth of heart, her gracious manner and her steadfast devotion to her family. She is survived by her sons, Richard Ripple, and Thomas (Gina) Ripple, Camp Hill; daughters, Patricia (Brian) Sell, San Diego, Calif., and Susan (Greg) Johans, Wormleysburg; and three grandchildren, Brian (Koren) Ripple, Sasha Milchen and Kyle Gillick. She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Kalea, Ian and Emmie. Also survived by her brother, Ronald (Norma) Corl, Windber, and sister, Gail (Robert) Roth, Johnstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Ripple, in 1996; her parents, Donald and Angela (McNally) Corl; and four siblings, Donald Corl Jr., Doris Fry, Angela Corl and Shirley Corl. Viewing will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 10, followed by the memorial service from 6 to 7 p.m. at Gilbert Dailey Funeral Home, 650 S. 28th St., Harrisburg, Pa. 17103. Private burial service will be conducted for the family on Friday, May 11, at Fort Indiantown Gap. Memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren or the Wounded Warrior Project. (www.woundedwarrior.org)
