The following obituary was published in The Pittsburgh Press on October 2, 1956:
George B. Stombaugh Jr.
Services for George B. Stombaugh Jr., an employe of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for 52 years, will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Forsaith Funeral Home, 126 Hazelwood Ave.
Mr. Stombaugh, 67, died Sunday at his home, 327-1/2 Semple St.
Until his retirement this year, he was the chief caller at the Glenwood Yards for 30 years. He was born in Scottdale.
Surviving are his widow, Thirza Simpson Stombaugh; two sons, George D. and Eldon B., and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
