    • Eva's surname is variously spelled Schwartzwelder (according to her obituary, below), Schwartzwalder, Swartzwelder or Swartswalter.

      According to a marriage announcement in the March 1, 1888 edition of the The Indiana Democrat (Indiana, Pennsylvania), George Stombough and Eva Swartzwelder were married at the home of Eva's parents in Centerville, Indiana Co., Pennsylvania, on February 22, 1888.

      The following obituary was published on January 15, 1916 in The Pittsburgh Press:

      Mrs. George Stombaugh

      Mrs. Eva Stombaugh, wife of George Stombaugh, died at her home, 64 Hazelwood avenue, last night. She was born in New Florence, Pa., and was a member of the Ames Methodist Episcopal Church. She leaves her husband, her mother, Mrs. C. J. Schwartzwelder; two brothers, H.F. and J.R. Schwartzwelder, and one niece.

      The following death notice was published on January 16, 196 in The Pittsburgh Press:

      STOMBAUGH-At Southside hospital, on Saturday, Jan. 15, 1916. at 12:20 a. m., Eva (nee Swartzwelder), wife of George B. Stombaugh, Sr. Funeral services at the family residence, 62 Hazelwood ave., Hazelwood, on Monday, Jan. 17, at 8 p. m. Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Scottdale, Connellsville and Johnstown (Pa.) papers please copy.
