Notes

An Ancestry.com Family Tree shows that William was born on December 21, 1853 in Thame, Oxfordshire, England. This needs to be confirmed.

Based on the 1880 census, which shows William married to Sarah Ashcom, and the 1920 census, which shows Ann Ashcom (Sarah's sister), a widow with the married name Collison, it APPEARS that (i) William married Sarah, (ii) Sarah died, (iii) William married Ann, and (iv) then William died. This series of events needs to be confirmed, but at least one Ancestry.com Family Tree reflects this series of events and this database does so as well.

William was a seaman, eventually becoming a captain. He apparently died at sea.
