France, Formerly of Lower Burrell
Darla Dawn Eberhardt, formerly of Lower Burrell, died Friday, March 9, 2007, in France of cancer. Her illness was discovered on Oct. 12, 2006. She was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Lower Burrell, a daughter of Mary Colwell, of Lower Burrell, and the late Russell Colwell, who preceded her in death in 1986. She was a 1962 graduate of Arnold High School. She and her husband, Jerry, a 1958 graduate of Ken High, were married Feb. 22, 1964, in New Kensington. They have three children, Diane, of Chicago, Ill., Christopher, of Indiana, and Stephen, of Oregon; and a grandson, Dylan, of Indiana, who is 4 years old. Darla is also survived by two brothers, Russell and Dennis, both of Lower Burrell. Darla and Jerry were called by God to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in foreign missions in 1961, and have been foreign missionaries since April 1968. The first 11 years were in Morocco and most of the years since in different areas of France. The past 8 1/2 years have been spent working with an Evangelical church in Apt, France. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Protestant Evangelical Church of Apt, in Provence (southern) France. Burial will follow in Viens, the small village nearby where she lived with her husband.
