Tremont--Earlene H. Guth, 79, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born Aug. 9, 1930, in Marion County, Ala., to James Rupert and Azie Johnson Hargett. She was working in Washington D.C. when she met her future husband, Roger A. Guth. They married in 1951. After his career with the U.S. Marine Corps ended, they and their sons moved to Tremont. She was a faith member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, where she attended until her health failed. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Services were May 14 at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with burial in Providence Cemetery.

Survivors included her husband of 58 years, Roger Guth of Tremont; three sons, Gary Guth, Greg Guth and David Guth (Donna), all of Tremont; a sister, Dot Mabus of Tremont; 10 grandchildren, Chris Guth (Danyel), Lori Hale (Johnny), Marsha Ferguson (Tony), Brad Guth (Amy), Amanda Minichino (Adam), Charlotte Leathers (Brandon), Adam Guth (Angie), Anna Marie Guth Lee, Caleb Guth and Kaity Guth; 11 great-grandchildren, Payton Guth, Courtney, Mary Grace and John Preston Hale, Maddie Guth, Abbie Leathers, Austin Minichino, Bryan Lee, Landon Guth, and Eric and Emily Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandy; a great-grandson, Joshua Seth Guth; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Guth.
