Biography
Age 89, of Shiocton, was called home to be with her beloved Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Lenora was born on January 18, 1919 in Ellington Township (Outagamie County), daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Kettner) Schroth. Lenora was united in marriage to Leslie Helser on May 18, 1938 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Stephensville; together they farmed in the Shiocton area until their retirement in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1995. Lenora was a longtime member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. She loved cooking, baking, sewing and gardening.
Lenora is survived by three daughters: Janet (Steven) Witthuhn, Kimberly; Audrey (Harold) Young, Arizona; Susan (Leonard) Clausen, Shiocton; three sons: William (Carole) Helser, Shiocton; Donald (Dale) Helser, Black Creek; James (Vicki) Helser, Shiocton; fourteen grandchildren: Debra (Ted) Tracanna, Jeffrey Witthuhn (special friend Renee), Chad (Mary) Young, Curt (Jenny) Young, Bryan (Nicole) Helser, Jeremy (Delia) Helser, Travis Helser (special friend Ashley), Sammi Lynn Helser, Eric Clausen, Brandon (Holly) Clausen, Michael, Bradley, Jeffrey, and Joshua Helser, nine great grandchildren: Thea, Trentin, and Trase Tracanna, Riley Young, Jericho, Dion, and Lily Helser, Caden and Carson Clausen and three more great grandchildren are expected. She is further survived by two sisters: LaVerne Knapstein, Appleton and Florence Hooyman, Darboy; sisters-in-law: Marion Schroth, Van Dyne; Marcella Schroth, Appleton; Lorraine Schroth, Appleton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Lenora is preceded in death by two sons: Gerald and Joseph, three brothers: Raymond, Clarence and Elmer Schroth and a sister Angeline Hartsworm, sister-in-law Jeanne Helser, brothers-in-law: Clarence Helser, Bernard Helser, Theodore Knapstein, and George Hartsworm.
The Mass of Resurrection for Lenora will be celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton with Fr. John Kastenholz and Sister Pauline Feiner officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton on Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 4-8p.m. and also directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
