M. O. Nelson Is Dead at 49
Kewaunee – M.O.Nelson, D.C., 1110 Center St., Kewaunee, died at 4:45 a.m. last Wednesday at Manitowoc Memorial hospital. He was hospitalized following a heart attack the preceding Saturday.
Mr. Nelson was a member of the board of directors of Wisconsin Chiropractic association and was also active in Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past commander of Ralph Perry VFW post of Kewaunee County, chairman of the state VFW activities committee and district VFW surgeon.
He was also member of the American Legion and Kewaunee Chamber of Commerce.
He began a chiropractic practice in Kewaunee 17 years ago after graduation from Logan Chiropractic College, St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran church, Kewaunee. Pastor A. W. Tiefel officiated and military gravesite rites will be conducted at Riverview cemetery. Buchanan funeral home handled arrangements.
Mr. Nelson was born Feb. 12, 1919, at Leeman, a son of Oscar and Nellie Helser Nelson. He entered the Army Jan. 19, 1942, and served in the European theatre. He received his discharge Nov. 21, 1945, and was married Dec. 12, 1945, to Ethel Fameree.
Survivors are the wife; three children, Dandy, Barry and Robin, at home; the mother who continues to make her home at Leeman, two brothers, Donald, Milwaukee, and Clifford, Leeman, and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Carol) Field, Leeman.
