- The following death notice was published in the Washington Post from May 8 to May 12, 2011:
On Tuesday, May 3, 2011, JOHN T. BOWDEN, 66, of Bowie, MD. Beloved husband of Laura Brooks Bowden; son of Mary Frances Bowden; father of Dawn B. Morat (Jeff), Kenneth T. Bowden and Rhonda R. Miller. Also survived by six grandchildren, Alaya and Solomon Yingling, Drew Ricks, Brittany and Jordan Miller and Kaden Talley. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 14, 2 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 14111 Oak Grove, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. Family and friends will gather in the Parish Hall immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Thomas A. Bowden Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Corcoran College of Art & Design, Washington, DC.
