Anne R. Teel, 91, guidebook author

Anne R. Teel, author of a guidebook to Annapolis and formerly a longtime Severna Park resident, died of cancer Aug. 18 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was 91.
Born Anne Reeder and raised in Baltimore, she was a 1933 graduate of Bryn Mawr School.
For 25 years until moving to Seaford, Del., in 1992, Mrs. Teel lived at Cryptomeria, her Severna Park home that took its name from the trees, also known as Japanese cedars, that were on its grounds.
In the early 1970s, Mrs. Teel wrote Rambling Through Annapolis, a tourist guide to the city.
Her husband of 58 years, Capt. Richard A. Teel, a retired naval officer, died in 1994.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Teel enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Naval Academy's St. Andrews Chapel in Annapolis.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Reeder Teel of Milford, Del. Another daughter, Carey Marshall Teel, died in 1939.
