RODGERS, MERCEDES VICTORIA "VICKY"
Age 87, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, died peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2009, upon completion of a long trip from Gaithersburg, MD to the home of her son, James F. Ray in Ripplemead, VA. In addition to her son, she is survived by her grandson, Jesse Ray of Orlando, FL. She was predeceased by a brother, William J. Rodgers. She is survived by two sisters, Mary C. Rodgers Strenio Brunet of Burlington, VT and Mrs. Edith Rodgers Legas of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by her sister in-law, Joan C. Rodgers of Prospect, PA and several nieces and nephews. Mercedes "Vicky" was a graduate of Brentwood High School, Brentwood, PA and was employed by the Bell telephone Company of Pittsburgh for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. She leaves behind devoted friends, June Mohr Sampson of CA, Marion Vilella of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Donna Nichols of MD, her devoted caretaker in her later years.
