ROBERT K. LOUGHRY
Robert K. Loughry, 72, of Sarasota, Fla., died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Greensburg, a son of the late George and Florence Best Loughry. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad and later as an administrator for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and fleet Marine during World War II. He was a member of the Westmoreland Lodge #518 F.& A.M., Greensburg, the Tebala Shrine of Rockford, Ill., the Sahib Temple in Sarasota and was a graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer `Bud' Loughry and James E. Loughry. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara (Wike) Loughry; two sons, R. Lance Loughry and Philip A. Loughry, both of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Rush M. Loughry, of Rockford; two sisters, Mary Lou Cook of Rockford, and Judith Iris Hart of Spokane, Wash.; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert A. Free officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Family suggests memorial contributions to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601. The Westmoreland Lodge #518 F&AM will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. to conduct a Masonic service.
