Peggy Anne Martin, 85 of Columbus died Feb. 5 at Columbus Hospice House.
Memorial services for Mrs. Martin will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Upatoi Methodist Church, the Rev. Chip Grantham officiating.
Mrs. Martin was born May 7, 1925 in Pittsburg, PA, the daughter of Frederick Wilhelm Ertzman and Blanche Beulah Hammond Ertzman. She earned a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling and served many soldiers both at Ft. Benning, and Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland.
She is survived by her two daughters: Lynn Martin Neff (Michael) of Charlotte, NC and Beth Anne Gilbert (Andy) of Columbus, GA; two sons; Robert John Martin, Jr. (Rebecca) of Myersville, MD and Craig Alan Martin (Christi) of Westminster, CO. She was a loving grandmother to Hannah Chambers, Meggie Gilbert, Rob Martin, Chad Martin, Launi Holck, Luke Martin, and Amanda Parham, and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Mrs. Martin to Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909 or a charity of one's choice.
