    • The following obituary was published in the March 18, 2007 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

      BERTHA
      NORMAN J.

      Age 83 on Friday, March 16, 2007. Beloved Husband of 58 years to Rita B.; loving father of William (Susan), Maryann (Dan) Beagle, Gregory J. (Cathleen), and Connie J. (Bob) Cortese, also preceded in death by his two infant daughters, Mary Frances and Janet; brother of Eleanor "Toots" Poulton, Jean (Harry) Koval, and the late Ruth Becker, Paul (Elva), and Robert (Miriam). Also survived by six grand children and five great-grand children. Norman was a 35 year employee of J&L Steel, and also was a WWII Veteran. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227, Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15; Mass of Christian Burial in St. Wendelin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Priests for Life, P.O.
