BARBARA D. DOHERTY, 86, of Huntington, W.Va., died February 3, 2004, at her residence. Funeral Liturgy will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Rev. Father Joseph L. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Huntington. She was born October 31, 1917, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Albert C. and Estelle McCloskey Daschbach. She was a retired librarian in the reference department at Marshall University; member of Our Lady of Fatima Church; a graduate from the Pennsylvania College for Women (now Chatham) with a degree in Library Science; a volunteer librarian at St. Mary's School of Nursing and Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Doherty on March 22, 1988, and whom she married February 17, 1944. She is survived by her sister, Sister Petra S.P. of Washington, D.C.; sons Dan Doherty of Indianapolis, Ind., and his son James of Detroit, Mich., James Doherty of Seattle, Wash., and his two sons Benjamin and Alex, John Doherty of Seattle Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. Condolences may be extended to the family at http://www.beardfuneralhome.com Beard Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
