Bert C. Daschbach
Bert C. Daschbach of 300 South Jefferson Street, Mount Union, died at 2:25 a.m. this Saturday, August 24, 1963, in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
The deceased was born at Thornburg, Pittsburgh, on August 6, 1912, the son o Albert C. and Estelle (McCloskey) Daschbach. He was united in marriage to Marie Davare of Connellsville on October 1, 1941 in the Holy Name Church at Duquesne.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are the following children: Marie, Rosemary, Edward, Keats and Curry, all at home. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Miss Rosemary Daschbach of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mildred Dewitt of Beaver, Mrs. Barbara Doherty of Huntington, West Virginia, Sister Petra of the Providence Order in Chicago, Joseph Daschbach of Baltimore and John Daschbach of SanDiego, Calif. Two bothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Daschbach was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church, the Holy Names Society and the Mount Union Fire Department. He was graduated from Crafton High School and attended St. Francis High School in Loretta. For 27 years he as employed by the Harbison-Walker Refractories as a foreman.
Funeral mass will be said at St. Catherines Catholic Church at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27. The Rev. Father Tomko will officiate and interment will be made in St. Catherines Cemetery at Shirleysurg. Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 8 p.m. in the Clarks funeral Home in Mount Union. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. on Sunday evening.
