    • According to a story in the June 21, 2001 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, about a house located in Lower Thornburg (a suburb of Pittsburgh), the house was built in 1903 for Albert Daschbach, a real estate salesman for the Thornburg Land Development Co. and was featured in House Beautiful in 1911 for its beauty, comfort and moderate price,$8,000. The Daschbach family raised nine children in the house.

      THORNBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Albert Daschbach, Sr. died May 11, 1960. He was the father of Barbara Doherty, Albert Daschbach, Jr., Rosemary Daschbach, Bertrand Daschbach, John C. Daschbach, Sister Petra Daschbach, Mildred DeWitt, and Joseph Daschbach. He was predeceased by his wife, Estelle McCloskey Daschbach. Services were held at St. Philip's Church. Arrangements were handled by A. Staab and Sons Funeral Home.
