- The following obituary appeared in teh May 6, 1940 edition of The Newark (Ohio) Advocate:
M.E. Colling
Michael Eward Colling, 71, barber, died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the home, 128 Madison avenue. While he had been in failing health his death was unexpected.
He was a native of Pittsburgh, PA., and is survived by his wife and two sons, Edward C. Collling of Columbus and Albert Colling of the home; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Ben Charles of Neward; Mrs. Edward Herbemster and Mrs. Frank Delaney of Pittsburgh, and a sister Mrs. Louise Daugherty of Newark.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the home conducted by Rev. A. B. Cox and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery. Funder directors Fitzsimmons and company.
