305	Jean grew up in Sugar Grove PA. Her mother died when she was 12 years old, and Jean had to help take care of her two younger brothers. After high school, she worked for a year, before going to Ohio Weslyan in Delaware, Ohio, where she majored in English. After graduating, she was campaigning for Norman Thomas, a socialist presidential candidate in 1940, when Ernest Morgan (son Arthur Morgan) introduced her to Ben Hudson. They married a few months later. She worked while Ben completed his degree, and then had her three sons, in 1945, 47, and 49. After moving back to Ohio from Wyoming in 1950, the family lived in Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Taiwan, Jordan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Senegal, Oman, Phillipines, and Somalia. She became unexpectedly pregnant when she was 50, and decided to chance it as she always wanted a daughter, and the risk paid off, as Holly was delivered without complication. Jean periodically worked as a teacher, secretary, and at a few other jobs, but her main love was writing. She published Rivers of Time, and wrote a number of other superb novels, some plays and short stories, winning a number of prizes. In the later part of her life, she was elected, by a landslide, the first woman mayor of Yellow Springs. After her death from cancer in 1992, her son Rex edited and published her poetry, Foreverness. Jean was not only an unusually intelligent and loving person, but also a very spiritual person, in her own private way. One person remarked after her passing that she had shed a great light her entire community.	Jean Elizabeth BARLOW

309	The following obituary was published in the Union Leader (New Hampshire) on July 12, 2011: Frank Barndollar KEENE - Frank W. Barndollar, 87, died July 11, 2011, at Langdon Place of Keene. He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the past several years. He was born and raised in Manchester to Paul and Eva Barndollar. He was a longtime newsman and former managing editor of The Sentinel in Keene. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he attained the rank of corporal with the 12th Armored Division, also known as the "Mystery Division" responsible for liberating 10 concentration camps. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire, earning four varsity letters in track. He also did graduate work at the university. He began his newspaper career while still a college student, serving as the college correspondent for the Union Leader and The Sunday News, where he mostly covered sports. After graduation, he moved to Foster's Daily Democrat in Dover as sports editor. Three years later, he became sports editor for the Wilmington (N.C.) Morning Star, where he covered sporting events for the Big Four of the Atlantic Coast Conference (Duke, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State and Wake Forest), semi-pro baseball, the Azalea Open, the Orange Bowl and the ascent of Wake Forest student Arnold Palmer as he began his pro golf career. In 1959, he was hired as a general news editor at the Keene Evening Sentinel, and two years later became managing editor, a position he held until 1982, when he became responsible for developing the newspaper's Observer magazine and oversaw the 14 special interest publications published by The Sentinel. He contributed a weekly column to the Observer until 2005, and often wrote feature stories for publication. He was proud of his selection for two years as a judge for the Pulitzer Prize for political cartoons. In retirement, he was the editor of The Hellcat News, a newsletter for the 12th Armored Division Association. He was a unit representative for the association and served on the executive board for several years. In 2002, he was named "Mr. Hellcat" and he received the Hellcat medal of honor for exceptional services to the association. He was named editor emeritus of the newsletter in 2006. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Rita Kelly Barndollar, in 2005, and by his daughter Heidi Jo Barndollar in 2000. Family members include daughters, Linda Barndollar and Sherry Barndollar Rock and her husband, Anthony Rock; son Steven Barndollar and his wife Lynne Juster; and four grandchildren: Katie and David Rock and Hadley and Justine Barndollar. Charleston, WV: Lewis Historical Publishing Co., 1913, George and Amelia lived in Woodbury, Pennsylvania where George was a miller and general merchant, and also dealt in stock. In 1842, he built a gristmill at Woodbury, which was destroyed by fire in 1879. He as a burgess of Martinsburg Borough in 1848 and he was a merchangt in Martinsburg in 1850. 337	The following story appeared in the column A Journey Through Time, by Linda Reno, Contributing Writer, in October 18, 2012 edition of The County Times, a magazine published in Hollywood, Maryland and available online in 2013 at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/110493908/2012-10-18-The-County-Times: Robert Martin Bean, born in 1853, was the son of John Henry Bean (1800-1858, son of Robert Bean, Jr. and Eleanor Hebb) and his third wife, Ann Clarissa Martin (1815-1886, daughter of John Henry Martin and Margaret Ellen Thompson) who lived near Piney Point. In 1860 Robert acquired a stepfather when his mother married Edwin Augustus Wilson (1834-1895, son of Joshua Wilson and Priscilla Hebb), then almost 20 years younger than his wife. Older woman, younger husband, only child and money wasnâ€™t a good combination. Robertand Edwin didnâ€™t get along. By 1870 Robert had been sent off to school and was living in Charlotte Hall at the home of William T. Briscoe. It is assumed he was a student at Charlotte Hall School. In February 1879 Robert and Edwin got into an argument that soon spiraled out of control. Edwin hit Robert with a pair of fire-tongs and then attempted to reach for his pistol, but Robert was faster. Robert fired two shots, one that hit Wilson in the throat and the other just above his right ear. The only witness to the fight was Ann Clarissa. Robert was arrested but was soon released on bail. At the bail hearing "Dr. T. A. Lynch* stated in his testimony that he probed the wound in the skull to the depth of five inches, and the other to the depth of two inches and failed to find either of the balls, and was of opinion that Mr.Wilson would not recover.â€ *Dr. Thomas Alexander Lynch. The February 21 edition of the Baltimore Sun said: "The condition of Edwin A. Wilson, whose shooting by his step-son, Robert M. Bean, was narrated in our last paper, at latest accounts had shown no favorable symptoms, the sufferer still remaining in a comatose state, without power of speech or ability to make himself under stood. He is supposed to be gradually sinking... It was rumored in Baltimore yesterday that Mr.Wilson died on Tuesday last.â€ Subsequent papers noted that Wilson had not died but â€œis still unconscious, paralyzed in the right side and unable to articulate.â€ I have found no record of a trial taking placeand would have to suppose that Robert was not prosecuted as Edwin Wilson was the aggressor. Ann Clarissa (Martin) Bean/Wilson died at Piney Point on July 9, 1886 and is buried at St.Georgeâ€™s Episcopal Church. Edwin Wilson died January 29, 1895 at the home of his brother-in-law, John Morris Milburn (married Eliza Octavia Wilson). He too was buried at St. Georgeâ€™s Episcopal Church. Robert Bean, who had married Julia Gardiner in 1875 (born 1856, daughter of Thomas Warren Gardiner and Catherine G. Ashcom), sold all of his property in St. Maryâ€™s County in 1881 and moved his family to Baltimore where he worked in a hat factory. He died in Baltimoreon August 18, 1913. His remains were returned to St. Maryâ€™s County and he is buried at St. Georgeâ€™s Episcopal Church. Julia and their six children remained in Baltimore.	Robert M. Bean
338	According to her granddaughter, Janet Maloney, Carrie was an excellant seamstress. She made many clothes for her children, herself, and some of her grandkids. She was also a great cook. Everyone would go to Carrie and Martin's home after church on Sunday for a big dinner. Even Janet's dog, Bessie, loved to go to Grammy's and PaPa's house. The following obituary was published in the Everett PressÂ (Everett, Pennsylvania) on December 9, 1892: Death of Mrs. Nancy M. Ashcom. Mrs. Nancv M. Ashcom relict of the late Dr. John P Ashcom died at her residence in Everett on Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock in the 67th year of her age. She had been in ill health for a number of years but it was only a few days before her death that her friends became alarmed at the nearness of the end. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years and her end was peaceful. She leaves one daughter, Anna, who has been her constant companion and nurse, and two sons Jno. W. 345	The following obituary appeared in the Daily Reporter in Coldwater, Michigan on September 18, 2008: Bronson- Daniel L. Belote, age 52, of Bronson, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008 at the Community Health Center of Branch County following a long illness. He was born April 14, 1956 in Coldwater, son of Kenneth M. and Carolyn M. (Klemmer) Belote and graduated from Bronson High School in 1974. He then earned his Associates Degree at Ferris State University in 1976 and in 1977 moved to Houston, Texas for a year, working in construction. Dan lived and worked in Colorado for Wick Homes from 1980 to 1989. Dan married Myra Zabonick, the love of his life, on Oct. 7, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nev. Together, they moved to Rochester, while Dan worked for Pulte Homes Corporation in Bloomfield Hills. Then, in 1995, they moved with their children to Bronson while Dan worked for Crest Homes in Middlebury, Ind. until his illness forced his early retirement. He was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and bowling but his passion was always his family. Surviving are his wife Myra, his daughter Sarah Belote and son Garrett Belote, both at home, his mother Carolyn Belote in Florida; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Belote of Rochester, Scott and Julie Belote of Aurora, Colo. and Dave and Chris Belote of Dorr, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Belote, his bother Matt Belote, his father-in-law Bill Zabonick and his brother-in-law, Bill Hyska. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Daniel L. Belote will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard A. Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Prayers before Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kolcz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Kolcz Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. 347	According to Ken's brother-in-law, John Klemmer, Ken was a tool and die maker. The following obituary appeared in the Battle Creek Enquirer (Battle Creek, Michigan) on April 9, 1975: KENNETH M. BELOTE BRONSON--Kenneth M. Belote, 44, of Route 3, died Tuesday at his place of employment, Bronson Specialities Co.,, of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Bronson and was a lifelong resident. He had been employed by Bronson Specialities Co., as a tool and die maker for 25 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church, was a member and past president of the Athletic Association of the church and was member of the Bronson Golf Association and the Bronson Bowling Association. [He] was a former member of the Bronson Jaycees and served as a Boy Scout troop scoutmaster in Coldwater and Bronson. He served with the Army during the Korean conflict. Surviving are his widow, the former Carolyn M. Klemmer; sons, Matthew Belote of Big Rapids, and Daniel, Kenneth, Scott and David, all of Bronson; brothers, Ellsworth "Dick" Belote of Bronson, Robert and Harold, both of Sturgis, and Lawrence of Elkton, Ore., and sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Hazel) Kline of Colon, Mrs. Frances Bell of Marshall and Mrs. Robert (Ivabelle) Large of Sturgis. BELOTE, 52, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Bronson, Mich., died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his home with his loving family at his side. Born Jan. 29, 1955, in Coldwater, Mich., he was the son of Kenneth and Carolyn (Klemmer) Belote. He graduated from Bronson High School, in 1973. He then attended Ferris State University. He worked the majority of his life in automotive sales and finance. He enjoyed golf, bowling, baseball, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family, especially with his daughters. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Surviving are his fiancee, Patricia Kovach of Fort Wayne; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Michael Lara of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Amy Belote of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Mallory Belote of Fort Wayne; his grandson, Carter Lara; his mother, Carolyn Belote of Bradenton, Fla.; brothers, Dan (Myra) Belote of Bronson, Mich., Kenneth (Mary) Belote of Oakland, Mich., Scott (Julie) Belote of Aurora, Colo., and David (Christine) Belote of Dorr, Mich.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Belote. A funeral service celebrating the life of Matthew J. Belote is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church, Bronson, Mich., with the Rev. Fr. Richard A. Fritz officiating. Prayers at 9:30 a.m. Saturday ate Kolcz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mr. Belz, a devoted husband and father, was born May 22, 1943, in Johnstown, Pa., and moved to this area from there in 1984.
